We are
just a few days away from the start of the 2022 Maine State Republican
Convention, we hope that you are as excited as we are!
We wanted to pass along some helpful information to you in this email.
When & Where:
The 2022 Maine State Republican Convention is being held at the Augusta
Civic Center, 76 Community Drive in Augusta Maine on Friday, April 29th and
Saturday April 30th. The convention
itself will begin at 9 a.m. on both days.
Parking is in the parking lots for the Civic Center. PLEASE ENTER THROUGH THE NORTH WING ENTRANCE
SO THAT YOU CAN PICK UP YOUR CREDENTIALS.
The North Wing is the end of the building closest to the highway.
Credentials:
Delegates, Alternates & Guest can begin getting their credentials on Friday
morning at 7:30. This will be done alphabetically by last name. A PHOTO ID WILL BE REQUIRED TO GET YOUR
CREDENTIALS. After you receive your credentials, you will be given a convention
bag which will include the final convention agenda and convention book as well
as other materials. You can then make
your way up the hallway toward the auditorium to your county delegation’s
seating area.
Meals and Events:
Along with the official business of the convention, we will be having numerous
events and meals. Among those are a luncheon with First Lady Ann LePage on Friday, a banquet with Keynote Speaker RNC
Co-Chair Tommy Hicks on Friday evening and a BBQ Saturday for lunch.
Tickets are still available for these events, but they won’t last long. You can
go here to get your tickets now. https://secure.anedot.com/mainegop/maine-republican-party-convention-fees-tickets-c5090fde93145f79d0d39
Seating:
Delegates, and only delegates, will be seated on the floor of the convention
Friday morning. Alternates and Guests will be seated on the 2nd level. Please look for the stanchion & signs
with your county name on it.
Food Drive:
Some sterling young Republicans in the Augusta area are hosting a food drive to
benefit local residents in need. We
would love if you could bring a donation for the food drive. They will be located in the lobby of the
Civic Center on both Friday and Saturday.
Agenda:
We have attached the most up to date draft agenda, please note that it is in
draft form and still subject to change, although we expect only minor changes
at this point.
County Caucuses:
We will break out into our county caucuses at 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon. At your county caucus you will be voting for
people to represent your county on the State Committee. Only delegates to
the convention are eligible to vote in these elections.
Candidate & Vendor Booths/Tables:
Gubernatorial & Congressional candidates, county committees, the Senate
& House Republicans and other vendors have booths and tables at this year’s
convention. Please make sure to visit
them. Some are having raffles and some
candidates will have swag to sell.
Jeopardy:
We wanted to add something new and entertaining for you this year, and so we
have created our very own Maine Republican Jeopardy Tournament of Champions.
Throughout the convention, 9 Maine Republicans will compete to become the Maine
GOP Jeopardy Champion, with the championship round closing out the convention
on Saturday.
Election Integrity Training:
Sharon Bemis, the Maine State Election Integrity Director will be conducting a
poll watcher training on Saturday from 12:30 – 1:30. As a Poll Watcher, you
will Protect the Vote on the front lines of our
elections. Together we will be able to ensure every person who is legally
entitled to vote has the opportunity to cast their ballot and have it counted
properly. Republican Leadership Initiative Trainings are designed to train and
mobilize grassroots supporters like you to ensure we WIN back Congress and TAKE
BACK Augusta in 2022.
